I ablsolutely love this time of year!!! It is when I get to break out of the house with my camera SO often!! That also means it is crazy busy and this is the first chance I have had to post a Pix with Chix glimpse!

All eyes were on the chickies! All chickies were on kiddos!

The weather was gorgeous! Thankfully, the expected rain stayed away and left us with a windy, windy day. All in all, the wind was not really that big of deal, though.

We all had such fun with all the soft birds... even the stuffed ducky that came to visit with his boy. ;D

I hope everyone is excited about next year! I can't wait!

Pix with Chix in KC was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out and allowed me to share such a memorable and fun event with you and your children. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!

The weather was most agreeable and the chicks were so soft and entertaining!

Although... they weren't quite as entertaining as the children playing with them!

Some of the kiddos couldn't get enough chickies and some little ones were happier with the small birds a "safe distance away."

I think it's safe to say that everyone had a great time and will not forget our time together anytime soon. :)

My favorite photo of the whole day still has to be this guy:

He kept giving the baby chicks baby kisses. You know how babies kiss... wide open mouth. Every time he would kiss them, it looked like he was taking a bite! LOL! So precious and absolutely adorable!!!

Sadness:

My last post joyously awaited Pix with Chix here in Topeka. The weather was forcast as nice with minimal chance of rain. My kids were excited, you were excited, I was excited... the weather... was disagreeable. I had to postpone the day of fun that was planned. :( Pix with Chix has been rescheduled for Sunday April 10th. Most people were able to move their time (someone joined the KC event), however there are still two spots available. If you or a friend would like to join us, please please please get in touch with me! I am still so excited for this event... I even have a new prop I am bringing!!! :) As great as this reschedule is... it isn't even the "joy" from the title...!

Joy:

I want my FaceBook page to be more than just a boring page. I want it to be more of a two sided page for me and others who love photography. I truly believe that you do not have to have a beautiful large camera like mine to catch some really great, creative, or fun stuff! I am formulating a plan to make my page a place for you to participate! Maybe have some photo games you can participate in! I love playing with my camera and photos and I know there are many others who enjoy it also. Whether with your phone camera, a simple point and shoot, or a DSLR I want YOU to come play on FaceBook with me... and your camera! :D Keep an eye out for the "rules" and upcoming games!!!

These were a few of the test shots I took of our Pix with Chix location here in Topeka! If you have a time scheduled, you should have received an email confirming your appointment time. The email also included the address. It is fairly easy to find, however, if you have trouble, feel free to call me. I will have someone available to give directions.

Time spots are all full! (Yay!) If you missed this opportunity, spring is still a prime opportunity to have your child(ren)'s photos or family photos taken. Call me (or text if you prefer) at 785 506-1534 to schedule a time.

I can't wait to see all the "funny bunnies" this Saturday! :D

Well, the results are in... I went to www.random.org to randomly select the big winner of a FREE newborn photo session and the winner is... (imagine a drumroll here...) HANNAH STRONG!!!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who entered and those of you who spread the word along! The link to my giveaway was posted a total of 57 times!!! Yay!! Those of you who did not win still get a big CONGRATULATIONS because that precious baby coming your way is worth a celebration of its own!

It's my birthday!!! Yay!!! I love birthdays! They are filled with fun and surprises and CAKE! Personally, I do prefer cookies, but you get the idea. spring is coming

On cold days like this one, when we once again call this snow the "last of the season", I have to remind myself that spring is in fact right around the corner. I dislike winter. I don't like to be cold and I don't like the dreary look to the plants all around. For me, snow and a roaring fire are all that make winter bearable once Christmas is over. Having snow this late in the game, however, is discouraging.

I am excited for spring! I am excited for the new life that spring brings. Green grass, budding trees, birds chirping, and rain puddles thrill me! I adore watching nature change through children's eyes and see the magic when they realize that the dead flowers have come back once again. The sweet aroma of blossoms and freshly cut grass mixed with the savory smell of steaks on the grill may work on my allergies, but it energizes and rejuvenates me!

With the warmer weather comes business anew. Spring is a beautiful time of year for photos. The bright colors and warm air are very inviting! I cannot wait to get back outside with my camera without freeeeezing. I cannot wait to capture the life all around me! I cannot wait to capture the faces of sweet children playing among the life! I cannot wait to capture spring on my camera once

again.

I am looking forward to kicking-off my first ever Pix with Chix event! I announced it yesterday morning and not only are there only three remaining spots, BUT there has also been interest in the Kansas City area to bring the event there the following week! This event is going to be SO much fun! I will have some baby chicks for sure and maybe a ducking or bunny too! I am so excited to capture kiddos with my camera as they play with these live baby animals!

If you haven't already reserved your spot, don't wait! Contact me right away so you don't miss out!!!

Cost is only $50 for a 30 minute mini-session. You will get to watch your child(ren)'s delight as they play with these adorable little creatures for 30 minutes while I snap away with my camera! After two weeks, you will receive a disc with all the full resolution images from your session AND a release to print the images! :D

This is my first shot at this type of event and I hope to host other seasonal events like this one in the future!!! Check back in a few weeks for a peek at how it went and some DARLING photos!

I have the privilege to make a home for my husband and homeschool with my four wonderful children. I am a self taught graphic artist and photographer. For years I taught preschool. I had been pursuing a degree in early childhood education when our first child was born. I still want to go back to school and finish that degree... but there are now a few other courses I would love to take as well! I have always been interested in photography and loved art. However, other interests always took precedence over photography and I just never found my artistic nitch.

The name Faith Fotos was carefully chosen for this business. My husband and I (along with many friends and family members) brainstormed several names. Faith Fotos kept coming up and was perfected by the cre8ive spelling of 'fotos'. Ours is a Christ centered home. He is the foundation and the rock we build our lives on. We work to instill that in our children and make it evident in our lives to others. God has taught us MUCH in our lives... more than I could begin to type here... Faith Fotos has been a delightful lesson about trust and His faithfulness.

Faith Fotos grew from my little point and shoot camera. Friends and family kept urging me to think about professional photography. I laughed at them. I stared fiddling with graphic art... more friends and family urged me to look into professional editing... I laughed more. I had no experience, no schooling, and no chance. One night I was talking with a friend about everything when she said, "Amy, sometimes God whispers. But sometimes, He SHOUTS." I had to admit then that God had been doing a bit of shouting at me... I just didn't want to listen. Every time I would try to push the calling away, I would be reminded of God's faithfulness. Either to me, or to friends, or from scripture... but there was always a reminder. During one of these "battles", a song spoke to me. Music is a powerful communicator to me... I have always felt music in the core of my very being. The song that was playing was called Moving on Faith by Jadon Lavik. The song says "Lord open the doors 'cause I'm moving on faith." From that day on, I prayed that several times a day. It was so encouraging to be reminded He would open the doors He wants. I didn't have to worry about if 'my' new business would succeed or not. If it did; great! If not, God is in control and has a reason for taking me down this road.

Every step of this journey has been a challenge for me. It is like standing on the edge of a cliff and taking one step at a time over a huge chasm. All I have to do is rely on God to step in and bridge the gap between talent and experience. He hasn't let me down.... ever. Every part of this adventure has been guided by God. Looking back, I see fingerprints of Gods hand everywhere. Opportunities that seemed run of the mill at the time. People I just *happened* to meet and build relationships. Things that didn't so much seem extraordinary at the time, have turned into more than I could ever have imagined on my own. All because of a little trust and willingness to blindly follow God where He was working.

Thank you, God for taking me through all the ups and downs in my life to draw me closer to you. I can never express my amazement and gratitude. I am in a constant state of awe over your love and mercy. Thank you for loving me so much and being so completely holy and good. For being bigger than anything mere man can ponder. Most of all, thank you for your enduring faithfulness.
